Growing up, my first exposure to philosophy was through the lyrics of my favorite songs. I didn’t realize it at the time but the first metaphor I learned was with the Kansas song, “Dust in the Wind,” specifically with the line, “All we are is dust in the wind.” So cool and profound!
Today’s featured quote is from an artist less known for his philosophical lyrics, the Prince of Darkness himself, Ozzy Osbourne:
Crazy, but that’s how it goes.
Millions of people, living as foes.
Maybe, it’s not too late
to learn how to love and forget how to hate.
This quote finds itself in my book’s chapter on virtue. I like the idealism of the message and how it overlaps the virtues of patience, kindness, tolerance and wisdom.
